Factum covers topics such as geopolitics, defense cooperation, and people to people ties. Our aim is to present clear, nuanced analyses, targeting experts as well as general audiences.

Factum publishes an analysis every week. Titled “Factum Perspective”, these analyses are run in NewsWire (English), Rata.lk (Sinhala), Vidiyal.lk and Virakesari (Tamil), and the Factum website.

We welcome debates and discussions, and our policy is to incorporate as many viewpoints as possible. To this end we invite you to contribute to us.

Before sending us your contributions, please consider the following:

• To get an idea about what we are looking for, browse our archives at factum.lk.
• Keep your piece short, simple, and specific. Try getting to your point as quickly as you can. Our analyses usually run between 1,000 and 1,500 words.
• In your email, provide a brief summary of no more than 50 words about the article.
• Include your references and sources as links in your submission.
• Type your articles in Calibri, in size 11. We generally stick to US English.
• We welcome views that go against mainstream thinking. At the same time, we require our articles to be respectful of all communities and all viewpoints.

In your submission, include a brief note about yourself, your qualifications, and any relevant experience. Do note that we only publish original articles.
